Re: GDSD with F-N-R
I hate to here any bad reveiws of GD just because i have run them for so long with minimum problems. Good people in my book. My current Gdsd has been nothing but awsome. Veggies, timber, whatever, mine does great. Its never left me stranded. I love the balanced motor. Im proud they are getting up to date with f-n-r.

Re: GDSD with F-N-R
1st one not to sure seals went out and beltbox just started pumping water out the top by that point the shaft was rusted up. Second time the idiots at the shop put the seals in backwards and killed the second shaft. 3rd time the berrings failed and killed the seals and ruined the shaft. 4th time I fixed it myself and it ran for about 6 months and sold it. Since then I think it has been replaced again

"Coco must be hung like a horse for you to sucking his dick so much. nothing is ever going to be perfect. Geez its damn lawn mower with a prop hanging off the back. kicking that go devil to the curb was the best thing I ever done. I always hear about "how great gd customer service is" well I must have been calling the wrong number they never did one thing to help me out. I went through 4 drive shafts on that thing and they didn't do shit to help me out. $600 gets expensive after 4 replacement and that's when I called it quits. 3 out of 4 times was because the idiots at the shop put the seals in wrong and you know what coco said? Sorry you were miss using it. The 4th time i Tried to get it fixed at the gd dealer and they told me they wouldn't work on it for at least a month because of the Houston boat show..now that just shitty business. So I did it my self. Called them when I had a few questions on things in the process and they referred me to the owners manual..
Had the LU on my gator tail literally come apart and called gt no questions asked I was up and running the next week. Had one cylinder shut down called gt again no questions asked, took it to the shop back up and running next day. I've ordered probably 5-6 small parts here and there from gt not once did they ask me to pay anything and it was at my door within 2 days.
Coco actually called me about 2 weeks ago and asked if I sold my motor. Told him I gave that pos away and bought a gator tail. And then put it on a go devil boat. He,wasn't to happy about that and went on an on about how he wouldnt warranty it and all that. Told him I wasn't worried about it any way I cut up the poor designed boat anyway. Had nothing to say and I went on with my day pretty satisfied"
''There is usually two sides to every story and we won't hear Godevils. Unfortunately there are people in this world that can break a new anvil and then blame the anvil. I suspect Coco is just as pleased as you that you went with GT. I hope your luck with it is better, but I don't envy GT.''
Stu is correct Quack is not correct
Here is the history of Quack's motor: The first time the repairs were done to motor #26778 on 12-20-13 at no cost to Quack. Second time the motor was returned to Go Devil for repairs to engine component and repairs completed 3-16-14. Drive shaft components replaced at same time, at no cost to Quack.
Quack was thoroughly briefed on PM requirements to prevent such problems, was informed that such work in the future would not be covered under warranty.
Brace kit for shaft tube was sent to Quack Sept 2014 at no cost to Quack.
Motor brought in needing repair again in December 2014. As in previous problems, root cause of problem was failure to replace lower seal when it began to leak. At this point Go Devil declined to warranty the needed repairs, and Quack authorized ordering necessary parts to accomplish the repairs himself. The purchase price of these parts was less than $300.00; any amount over that sum was for additional items which were not related to the repair, such as a new propeller. There were not, as Quack has reported, more than once, four repair jobs which cost him $600 each. If fact, this was the first time that he paid for any of these repairs.
What is reported here are facts which are supported by computer records, dated work orders, dated sales receipts, text messages, and several humans who were involved in the process of attempting to take care of this customer.
Quack has chosen to misrepresent these facts on this forum by claiming that he paid $600 four times, but this is not correct. What is true is that all facets of the Go Devil System were unable to make the fellow happy.
Go back and read Stu's post again. Now you know the Go Devil side of the story, and the rest of his post you should enlarge and hang on your wall.

I like how the ninja slipped in for first post, then slipped right back out without actually addressing the original poster's image and title of the thread, which most of us feel is far more important to us, except for quack and giga. [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]
Btw, he doesn't have to, just was pointing out his ninja skills far exceed ours, and he's only posted once.

Re: GDSD with F-N-R
So, in summation; Quack n stack's word holds about as much water as a colander and the story about all this money "he" spent on that Gdsd is about as true as brasso being a gatortail pro staffer? Way to go, kid.

Brasso isn't a gatortail prostaffer? Seems like a perfect candidate for that position.

Dude, his statement was referring to your claims of money spent fixing it, not whether or not you bought the motor yourself. Untie the panties...

Meanwhile.....back in Dutchtown......
I've had a 16 hp GDLT since 1998 and was using them since the early 80's.
I think Coco had a good idea back then....chances are, he probably put together another good idea.
I run a Prodrive and endorse this message.
