I got a 29 horse mb with a kohler enginge. well i went rididng yesterday and my boat was running fine then the prop just stopped turning. the motor didnt cut off but the prop wouldnt spin. this is my first mud motor and ive never had any problems with it. im thinking the belt just came off but any ideas you guys have would be fantastic cause i really dont know. its not making any funny sounds just the prop wont spin.

Does it have a clutch? Does it engage? If not take the housing off and see if your belt is broken. What frame do you have?

It's been a while since I've tinkered with a MB but it takes 5-10 minutes to pull the belt housing cover off. Pull it off and check out the belt.

oh dang that was stupid of me no it does not have neutral which means no clutch i took the belt housing off and the belt is tore up. there was also a little bit of water in the bottom of the housing, is that normal? and how do you tighten the belt?
