i have an 02 16ft Xpress boat. its got the hyperlift hull. atleast thats what i think its called. im runnin a 50hp yamaha on it now. i was just wondering if you could run a surface drive on these boats or not! i really like the prodrive motors so if it was possible to put it on the express thats what i would want to go with. but i have the same boat as the one pictured right here! |

Should work, but its not gonna perform like it would on a boat designed for the motor... |

A flat bottom performs a bit better, but that boat will do.. That is a nice looking rig... |

so with it not being a flat bottom boat it wont really hurt the performance speed wise or what? |

It will have more drag in the water, it will hang up in veggies and mud... been down that road and will be goin with an Uncle j custom when the $$$ is right. |

alright so id be better off sellin my boat as is with my outboard on there then. and just use whatever money i get for a new one! whats the deal with these uncle j boats. ive seen a few on here and i seen one in the for sale section with a really nice price but i dont like the bench seat in the back. thats what i like about the pd boats! i like how you can move all the boxes around if you want. |

He is about the same price or less said and done but you get exactly what you want. He has competitve prices... On another note, can you build an airtight weld to fill with floatation? |

I had a 15ft Express with a 25 Prodrive. It performed ok,but not great. Save yourself the time and heartache i had and just go with a custom and be done with it. Im so much happier with the one i have now. |

just looked at uncle js picture gallery! those are some nice boats! is there anyway you can make it to where you can move your gun boxes and stuff cause thats one thing i really like bout the prodrives! another reason i was leaning towards the pd is becaause there is a dealer 10 minutes from the house! so that would be convienent! |

Persanally have never delt with J,but from what everybody says he biulds it the way you want it,so im sure he can make the gun boxes mobile. as far as convenience, theres nothin like a road trip to south louisiana to pick up a boat and enjoy some good food ![]() |
