thats what i was thinkiing
what a huntdeck or a sport deck?

Post subject:  Re: best size hull for 35GTR

the hunt deck will keep the water out the boat while reversing I don't know about the sport deck but I do like the way the sport deck looks compared to the hunt deck. The 18x48 is a great hull for that motor.

I have an 1848 with the hunt deck and love it. I live off of Bayou Black in Houma. More than welcome to come check it out.

I would vote for the hunt deck to keep the water and mud out when in reverse

Post subject:  Re: best size hull for 35GTR

x2 on the hunt deck....although the sport deck looks good im just not sure how it will keep the water out of the boat while WOT in reverse. i get little to no water in the boat while at WOT while reversing in both mud and deep water. just keep that in mind.

For most people 1/8 is enough but yet others can destroy a hull made out of 1/4

What's Your thickness

Post subject:  Re: best size hull for 35GTR

Mine is all 1/8 which if fine for croosin over logs and stuff, but if you will be runnin in an area wit lots of stumps or cypress knees then I would suggest a 1/8 hull wit a 3/16 bottom.

Post subject:  Re: best size hull for 35GTR

Thats what i was thinking.i run a lot of swamp with knees everywhere

Bayou black hunter,
I used to have a tapered transom for reverse... I found that it hurt my topend speed, and my ability to get on step quick.. its almost like it lets the boat squat a little more. I did not put it on my new boat.
