My buddy that I hunt with has a 27 GDSD with a light load two people guns decoys normal huntin stuff in shollow water we get from 22 to 24 sometime bumpin 25 with the wind if were lucky , I think it's a good motor , but thats just me his is on a 1648 grizzly so it's not the best boat for that motor , Your would be alot better , I just bought a 27 last week but I bought the mini just because I am trying to keep the weight down some there's like a 40 or 50 pound difference between the two going buy there web page. If your a speed freak get a bigger boat and a 35 hp they say they can move pretty good. I've got a 40 hp outboard if I want to haulass.Good luck |

Then a 27 would be a good motor for you. |

I bump 26 with just me in my 1656 in deep water. That's with two batteries and hunting gear. Add two people and more gear and 20 is all I get in deep water. Just added an aftermarket intake and K&N filter. Have a stainless Q muffler on the way also. Not worried about my top end, just want to boost load carrying speed. Nathan |

Have you notice much with the after market intake and air filter. |

I've only run it once with the new intake. It definitely made a difference with throttle response. Don't know about speed or load carrying. Didn't have much weight in the boat, myself and one other person, and didn't bring my GPS. Nathan |
