Mud Motor on 17ft Lowe Roughneck
I am considering replacing my outboard with a Mud Motor for more marsh access in South Florida. I spoke with someone from Mud Buddy and for that size boat, suggsted the 45/55 Black Death series. I also like the reverse feature on the Gator Tail Mud Motor. I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks,

Thanks for the input. I like the reverse feature. Roughly what kind of speed do you think I can expect with a 35 Gator Tail on a 17ft aluminum boat?

Just put it on there and if you feel you need extra bracing you can always add it later, its up to your descression

Re: Mud Motor on 17ft Lowe Roughneck
I appreciate the info. I spoke with a MB dealer and he pretty much said the same thing about bracing the transom. Any thoughts or experience on tiller vs remote steering?

Re: Mud Motor on 17ft Lowe Roughneck
tiller is more manuverable and easier to handle in the timber, remote is easier to handle on long distance runs.
