Seriously thinking about getting a custom boat built, but not real sure who I should go with..

Who is known for quality and good pricing?

Who are some people I should stay away from?

Jason builds real nice boats, and I've talked to him about one before, which is what I plan on doing, just seeing what else is out there besides him.

Allow me to be the 1st to say it....

Check out Brother Breaux boats. He makes the best custom hull IMO.

Does Jason do the welding on his boats?

Post subject:  Re: Boat builders and their boats

I don't think he does.. But I could be mistakin..

And Team camo, this is a general question, and i have studied the frkn reviews and search, and i found nothing on price, or quality. Just named a few boat builders.

I am at the shop everyday. My two welders are people that have forgotten more about welding than what I know. I look up to both. Both of which are very good employees/people.

AND.. I still do weld on them.. Just not as much as i used to.

Cj, you talking about h&w marine?

Post subject:  Re: Boat builders and their boats

Well, ya say ya already have talked to Jason & ya plannin on goin with him for ya build, but then ya turn around & say that ya wanna see what other options ya got. What I got outta that was ya want a custom boat, already talked to a builder & plan on usin that builder, but ya tryin to get somebody to talk ya into using somebody else. Ya wanna know things like prices, ya gotta call the builders, not the past customers, and if ya look at the reviews, you'll find the builders' numbers. I have an Uncle J and absolutely love it, Owen has a Brother Breaux & loves it, Poker has a Charles Leonard & from what I gather, loves it also. My point is the question ya asked aint gonna get ya the answer ya lookin for. I don't think any of us are gonna bad mouth the guy that built our boats.

rob, is it that hard to add one more letter and use "you" instead of "ya"?

I know you want to fit in with the cajuns and shit but come on man, "ya givin me a bad case of da headaches"!

Josh, for each time I have to type "you" instead of "ya" I am 1 step closer to havin corpel tunnel syndrome, and I'm tryin to avoid the costly surgeries associated with it so that I may continue to afford to attend the many events that we have. I've actually considerred just usin the single letter "u" in place of each of them. Now that I've had to type this to explain it to "you" I've used more key strokes than I woulda in the 1st place, and my hands are startin to hurt. OH GOD!!! THE AGONY!!!!!

True that, of course aint nothing cheap anymore, its at a good price, we'll put it that way. I guess we can only see whether its worth it or not!

Gator-tail garranty's their boats to run and perform!!!

Author:  Brasso [ Wed Apr 06, 2011 10:14 am ]
Post subject:  Re: Boat builders and their boats

They also arent built the way I want them to be built.. Although I do like gator tail, they handle well, and from what I can see so far, are built decent as well.. Im not much of a fan on the bracing at the front of them though.

Author:  take'emgator [ Wed Apr 06, 2011 10:17 am ]
Post subject:  Re: Boat builders and their boats

Most custom boat builders don't run their bracing all the way to the front cause its not needed but if you want it you'll get it for sure, J builds a very nice boat and will build it to your specs and has great quality and very affordable!
