Post Suicide in never the answer!!
I'm going to mess up your day with this post. Sorry.

Last Thursday the son of a family childhood friend committed suicide. That morning he reminded his mom he had a dental appointment in a couple of hours, kissed her, walked outside past his father who was tending his garden and told him he was going to the barn to pick up something. 10 minuets later the father heard two gun shots and rushed to the barn where the father and mother witnessed their son die in their arms. The funeral was Monday. The pain for me was almost unbearable. I cannot imagine what it was like for the parents. Pray to god your child does not do this.

Suicide is one of the most selfish acts that anyone could ever commit. No matter how bad you think you have it, just imagine what your family and friends will have to go through after you're gone.

I just found out today, that a guy that works in our egress shop commited suicide this weekend! The guy had over 20 years of service in the Air Force (like alot of us do) called another guy he works with, said "I hope you can forgive me" and that was it!

My neighbor who I also consider a dear friend lost his best friend to suicide about three years ago.

THat crap really messed him up bad. They had spent ALOT of time hunting and fishing together. I noticed within a months time he had grey hair popping out like mad. What really messed him up was looking back he could see some of the warning signs in hindsight and feels guilty for not doing something. What was also devastating to family and friends was that it seemed to run in the family. His dad had committed suicide many years ago and his uncle had also done the same.

Life goes on, but my neighbor will never really recover from losing his best friend. He says it would have been easier if his friend would have died in any other circumstance. I remember him telling me about it the next day and he was crying like a baby in my back yard.

i have dealt with 1 a year for the last 3 years.
may-2009
march-2010
april-2011

all of which have been very hard to bear, the last of course the worse. the prior 2 were having issues overcoming addiction. the last, still unclear. always happy on the outside. its a terrible way to leave those that care.

December 3, 2006 I got a phone call I never wanted to receive. GF had been shot & killed by an ex-bf then he killed himself took me about 2 years to fully get over the whole thing, it really messed me up.

Any suicide or aftermath of one is a very sad ordeal and a lot of what if's for those involved

Prayers sent.

Saw plenty of that when I was in ems. Was always hard to see the family both on scene and at the hospital (if there was a need). Have had a few friends go that route as well.......but in a way I can sort of see their side of it. When I was in my early teens I had a tough time with depression. I went to a counselor for yrs and ended up being great friends with him. I hated him in the beginning but he saved me in the end. On the outside it all looked great. Had everything I ever wanted. I was kind of a loner though. Getting high and staying locked up in a bedroom jamming to janes addiction didnt help though. Depression is a big black hole that will literally suck the life out of you. Its a hard place to be. Prayers for the family.
