Post mudbuddy long or short
Long story short..... I just bought a 35 Hyper out of a divorce deal. The person selling the motor didn't know anything about it. I've never had a mudbuddy so my question is how do I tell if its a long or short transom motor?

Im no MB expert so I cant tell you some little trick to identify it.

You could look at pictures of both and see which one your's looks like the most, its gunna have a shorter belt housing if its short.

I know you can tell by how many bolts are on the belt housing cover

Dammit. 13 bolts. I got a short transom. Guess it's time for a huntdeck unless someone wants to trade for a short transom motor

Nevermind, I understand what you said now. Just get your transom built up to 19", or use a jack plate maybe.

MB recommends 19 for their motors, but yes it's normally between 19 & 21 depending on manufacturer.

Well I decided to put my African engineering degree to good use and made a bracket to raise the transom. Got the motor hung on the boat and will hopefully get to run it tomorrow. I've never ran anything but a GDSD. Any tips or things that might be different while running?
