RC and Rail both ran 1846's Gator Tail boats with PD's.

Yea, mines a 1660. I was originally looking at the 1754 but decided on the 1660. When I bought by rig over 2 years ago, Kyle told me that the 1754 would be about 1 mph faster unloaded but that the 1660 would outrun it loaded. I guess that has to do with the total amount of bottom surface area. I fish a lot out of my boat and really like the 60". My next boat will be 60" also. I would like 1 more foot of length but it's not a big deal because I really like my boat.

I have been wondering about the new "Extreme". I thought I read where they had a 1860. I would assume it is a 60" wide floor with a 54" bottom that turns really well. I will be looking into this boat in the future.

The only real change that I had Kyle make when he built my boat was to have a 20" transom instead of 21". The transom angle is still was GT builds standard (I think 20 degrees) and it allows me to trim down very far into the mud. I don't think the transom angle is a huge issue unless you can't trim up high enough, which is not the case with mine.

Ran one on my 1846. It was purpose built to run a PD on it, after trying a few different hulls. Transom was 13 or 14 degrees, which allowed the skeg to trim just up to the water surface, with no travel wasted going above that point (hydro trim or winch trim). This allows being able to trim down further than a boat with like 10 degree transom angle, which is much needed in mud. The transom height was 19.5"(to the top of the transom cross brace......cut out the 1/8" skin that was 20" high)......the lower the transom, the flatter the angle of the PD drive in relation to the water......equals a TINY bit more speed and shallow/hard bottom takeoff, and again....better trimmed down performance.
I opted for not having the slop transom/angled transom bottom, for top speed, but next mud motor'd boat would have about a 2" angled/slop transom (non angled and trim tabbed hulls hang up on everything, in reverse, in the areas I run).
They also beefed up the transom accordingly for a PD.
Fold down seats are sweet!
I can't say enough good things about they're hulls, top notch, FAST, quick planing.........all around top performers!

*they may not be able to change specs too much during the busy season?
