Post painting motor black?
I'm thinking of painting my motor all black. I camo'd it awhile back. You think it would stick or do I need to prime it first. My motor is clean as it gets. Anybody else paint their motor all black or another solid color. I do like the OD tan Gatortail uses. I was thinking of using my HVLP gun. Thanks in advance.

I got 2 black chicks.....never cleaned it just put black paint on. If u want to do it right be sure to remove tiller handle and exhaust so u can get an even spray.

You might shoot some primer on the metal. I did that on my 31 and it stayed good.

You might try some self etching primer, then paint it.

if you can get your hands on the green high zink primer that is used in the avaition industry it will stick. had an avaition engine re-manufacture friend that used it. it bites on the aluminum hard.

If there's paint on there thats sticking then use a 3m pad, scuff it and paint it. If can use an hvlp gun,do it. You will be much happier w/ the finish.
