 27hp beavertail
put a 27hp beavertail surface drive short transom on a 1748 boat empty with just me gps says it does 23 with another person and some fishing gear 21 which is fast enough for me funny thing is i see all these clips on the internet with these mudmotors slinging mud and water up behind the motor. mine doesn't do that although i've had no problems in the shallows, im afraid maybe in not getting the rpms i should at my prop. anyone else have this problem? or is it even a problem?

 Re: 27hp beavertail
You may not be trimming up high enough, they don't sling a roostertail until the prop is half out of the water, which will raise your RPM's. You should be getting around 3800+ RPM's when running wide open, then she'll be kicking a roostertail.
