steel vs alumnum, i call bs
this goes out to the two or few of you that think steel is better. (you know who you are). thays BS.
i run a mini lite. and if you havent ever seen one in person. its nearlly all alumnum. i have hit more rocks and boulders, not wood, than i can count. and guess what, no problems. im not saying thats its any stronger than steel, but i havent had any issues. this is onne of the lightest motor frames made and it has held up. you cant know how hard a hit is untill you run where i do. you would have to run the river i do to find out. i know what wood feels like and i can assure you if i can hit rocks as hard as i have in the past a stump or log is no problem.
so before you tell someone new that an alumnum motor is bad you pack your stuff up and come here, ill show you what an alumnum motor can take.
i know stu runs gd. but he can tell you what a real ROCK strike is like. wood cant touch it.
and while im at it, heres a thought: maybe we should refer to them by the "manufactures of mm frames", because we all run lawn mower motors.

Take a look at your transom bracket, right at the vertical swivel. For whatever reason, they tend to crack right there. Not tryin to start a bunch of pissin & moanin, just givin you a heads up.

Yep. I don't think I still have any pics, but I'll look.
Sent from my Droid because I'm trying to be as cool as you someday.
