 Grizzly 1548
I am looking at getting a grizzly 1548 with a mud buddy 23 mini. I mostly will be running it through vegetation. The boat is a 08 and motor a 09. Will i be happy with this rig seeing that it is not designed for a mud motor? Also, what do yall think it is worth it does have a carb kit, clutch, and few hours. I am new to the mud motor stuff so all info will be great.

 Re: Grizzly 1548
I have a 1542 with 27 hp MB mini and it gets 26 mph by myself, tank, and 2 batteries. Your boat could easily fit the 27, if you were even considering another motor option. Just my .02. By the way, any boat "can" be designed for a mud motor and my hull is a flatbottom and riveted.

 Re: Grizzly 1548
Trust me nickel copenhagen does not know anything about mud motors. Not even how to change the oil. Look for advice elsewhere. He also told me when he first got his motor it ran 30 by himself

 Re: Grizzly 1548
It will work. Only thing with grizzly is ribbed bottom and transom angle. I personaly think youll be happy with the purchase until funds allow for a true mm hull. I ran a lt on a alumacraft for a long time til I got my new rig. After running my excel I have learned two things. I will never go back to a mod v boat with a mm and next rig will be a custom build cuz I can get exactly what I want for a whole lot less

 Re: Grizzly 1548
With a 23 that boat will be under powered big time! My friend has the same boat with a stock 35 Mud Buddy and with 2 guys and a hunting load, the boat was 24-25 mph tops. You'll notice the lack of power even more in the mud so unless you're getting a great deal, keep on looking.
My buddy recently did the heads, carb, and exhaust and he's now running 31-33 with a load. The problem with a boat that size is that it sits a lot deeper in the water than say a 1750. This kills performance.
