 Re: Best website ever!
Yeah! I fgiured last night if I lived with my parents for a year! I would save enough money on rent that I could buy the ProDrive that I want and have a few dollars left over.

Wow - the decline of America is taking place before my very eyes. Get a job negros. Then you can pay your rent, make a boat payment, and hold your fukkn head up cause you earned something. Dam.

 Re: Best website ever!
this is just my opinion. i feel rent is stupid. you are paying a note to live somewhere that you will never own so there for you might as well be throwing you hard earned money out the window. i think that might be what he is saying. but thats just me. so instead of paying rent to someone else. take that money open you a separate savings account. Live at home and pay yourself rent for a year and take that money and put a down payment on a house instead of a boat. then just keep paying on the house like you were with the savings account.

hahaha Sorry your parents never loved you...apparently you never had to pay for college because it takes a majority of my checks which leaves me no money or reason left to pay rent. I don't know why I'm explaining this to you anyways haha.

 Re: Best website ever!
DDC, Quack, & Cope --- How yall liking this website now? Is it still the greatest? Damn guys, yall lighten up on em. They're still young'ens. Me personally, I moved outta my parents' house 3 days after I graduated high school (the 1st 2 I spent on the beach. ) & been bustin my azz every day since. Had I chosen to, I could've stayed @ home for free, but I was willing to pay that $ for my freedom & independance. If I had it to do over, I don't know if I'd have done it exactly the same or not. I learned alot of lessons the hard way, & got the scars & empty pockets to show for it, but whatever route you, they, or anyone else takes will help mold you into the person you become later in life.

 Re: Best website ever!
problem is you cant do it all at once, piece by piece. get a boat save a few grand and fiance the rest build credit on a low amount loan and even if you do the minimum payment's the interest should only build a extra 800-1000 depending on interest rate coe signer yada yada yada........anyone get to work and you'll get it lol.
i turned my rig into make money by running traps and whatever I could make a buck on.

Shit all I ran was small long tails for years because I didn't need anything big to run a mile down a canal. Go to school take your time it will all fall into place. If you need to stay home to get your feet on the ground do it,who cares what some dipshits on the www say

Can't be sucking on mommas tit forever. Yea, it's in a way smart to bum off of parents so you can save money, but it teaches you nothing. You need to learn to prioritize. Get your shit in order first before you start buying toys. Once your making enough to support YOURSELF and have everything you need for basic living, THEN go get you a toy.

 Re: Best website ever!
Yes Camo, it still is the greatest website. You should be the MudMotorTalk Counselor haha. I was taught basically everything from you, but you forgot to mention 1 thing...that it is addicting as hell. Bro, my buddy and I had to push my boat out of 40 yards of straight mud the other day. You got any tips from your old 27 hp MB of how to get the thing unstuck? I adjusted the trim all the way down and hit the quick trim lever down and not a thing. Thanks.

 Re: Best website ever!
Counsellor, huh? That's funny right there. Sounds like you see now what I was talking about when you were 1st lookin at the mini frame. It just don't trim down far enough. Get you some wedges to put between the transom & motor that will change the angle it's mounted on the boat. I had a set, but sold the motor before I ever used em.

 Re: Best website ever!
Ya, my deal was wanting more hp. Which is why I choose the 27 hp MB mini over the 23 hp MB special. We need to talk to them and get them to make a 27 hp mud special haha. Thanks for the wise words there Camo, I will give the wedges a try. Could you give me an idea of what the wedges looked like?

Anything that will bring the top out 1/2" - 3/4" & still allow the bottm to pull up tight against the transom should work.

 Re: Best website ever!
Thanks Cope! Great to have support from family and friends. I really want a Prodrive. I knew I shoulda bought one when I got back from Iraq and had some expendable cash, but i didn't. So I'm kiccking myself in the AZZ right now. I refuse to take out loans for school. My buddy just got a brand new 27 prodrive and I want one sooooooo bad now. I'm wondering where DMD is right now.???

 Re: Best website ever!
DMD is probably crying in a corner and collecting welfare haha. Does your GI bill from the Marines not cover for school? Dude, I'm gonna be honest with you and don't just look at the prodrive. I know it sounds bias because I own one, but they are the real deal. I have huge trees and ran wide open into gravel bars and not a scratch. If I could do it again, I would get a 16 ft boat with a 35 MB La Special. Talk to Team Camo he knows his shit. Here are some videos of the 35 hp to prove it.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FA00mXV_ZW4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4UC6Z-n1SYhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dx0zYkvRklQ&NR=1

 Re: Best website ever!
Ive got a 1452 F&F. I thought about the 23 mudbuddy, but really would like to have reverse. My buddy had the mudbuddy ordered and they told him 2 weeks till it would be at his door. Well 2 weeks went by and he calle dthem back and they told him it would be another 4 weeks, so his dad asked if anybody else made shortshaft mudmotors and he said yes and his dad said if they would ship it next week that he would put it on his credit card. That was this past friday and he got it in Dallas today around 4pm. Now that is good customer service. My buddy is new on here, so i wont mention his name. My GI bill only pays for about 40% of my tuition, bc I was a reservist, even though I did a 7 moth tour in Iraq, just like everybody else and I was not a POG. I am a Grunt and trained and lived with the Iraqi army my whole time there. Kinda messed up on the governments part if you ask me.

 Re: Best website ever!
My buddy is a Marine Reservist and getting back from Afghan this Aug. and we are havin a big shindig for him. Anyways, I agree Mudbuddy is horrible with customer service. Once you send them that $5 K check, they take their damn sweet time getting the motor to you. It was definitely worth the hassle though. I don't know anything about prodrive, but you know if their 27 hp might be too heavy for a 1452? The 23 hp La Spec would be perfect for that boat, but to each his own haha. Not havin reverse isn't that much of an issue. Good Luck man in your search.

 Re: Best website ever!
1st off, DDC, thank you for your service and the sacrifices you and your family endured. While I completely understand him being upset because he was told 2 weeks initially, what you need to understand is that unless your dealer or one near you has one in stock, you're gonna look at 4-6 weeks from all of the companies. For the most part, they all build these motors to order. Your buddy lucked out and somebody happened to have one available to ship to him. I'm not trying to sway your decision in any direction, but I wanted you to know up front what you're lookin at. You say you want reverse, so that only leaves you with 2 options right now & they're right down the street from each other. I strongly suggest taking both for a test drive if at all possible.

 Re: Best website ever!
we are gonna try my buddies motor out on my boat in a couple of weeks on my boat during teal season. his boat is smaller than mine. His is a 1542 rivited with a welded transom. Mine is all weded and is .100 gauge aluminum. My dad is convinced that bc of mudbuddys slow service for my buddy, that they are not a good company. They are still my second pic after Prodrive. I really want the reverse, bc I would use it for a fishing boat also. for a couple of more years it will be my only boat for everthing. I hunt alone alot sometimes, so the reverse would be great. If the PD dosen't make my boat plan out well then I'll prob go with the mudbuddy.

I agree w/ camo. All these motor companies r super backed up right now. Don,t confuse somebody having a motor to send Quick good customer service. That f&f is a nice Lil boat. Good luck w/ your search & Hope your happy w/ the results.

 Re: Best website ever!
Thanks Migrator! It's a great little boat. Tall sides and a short transom. I plan on getting the transom built up when I eventually get my motor so I'll have more freeboard and not have to worry about backwash coming in the boat. Not the ideal length that I wanted but I got a helluva a deal on it.
