 how do I bend this?
This won't go on my transom cleat. What is the best way to open it up some without jacking it up? I need j-hooks in a 2" strap. Prefer something around 10-12' max. Seem to be hard to find. I found a 20' length and can always cut it.

Every time I need to break/bend anything, I usually end up with a pipe wrench in my hand.

Re: how do I bend this?
Find a hook that fits and cut that one off? Cut that one off and slip the loop over your cleat? Unless you can sew, use bolt cutters on the hook.

Re: how do I bend this?
I think I bent mine over the horn of an anvil. I'd just go to a flea market with the straps and a hammer. When you find an anvil beat the hooks by putting the opening over the horn and beat the backside. If they ask what you are doing just say taking the anvil for a test drive.

What you gonna do with it? Probably gonna booger up the plastic coating what ever you try. Maybe try a stainless snap hook and cut those off. I do the same on my winch straps and cut that stock hooks off.
