Just got my new motor last week and was looking it over with a friend today when I noticed this. Can anyone tell me what it is and why it's not hooked up? |

Idk what its called but right under your breather tub there is suppose to be a hook-up for that. Suppose to be where that square head bolt goes. Maybe a expert can chime in |

Judging from the location, my best guess is that wire hooks to a low oil sensor (which usually comes on all new MB motors, however it isnt there). However the wire that hooks to the low oils sensor is usually green, and I cant blow the pic up but it looks purple. Where does it come from (on the other side of the motor)? |

Thats what I thought it was an oil pressure switch like my old one. It's black comes from the harness on the other side of the motor |

I'm sure you can get one from mb or even briggs. Cheap insurance imo |

My 45 mag is the same way. The wire is just zip tied up. Don't know why. |
