 Winch contactor?
Hey guys. New to posting, but have been lurking and reading posts for a good while now. Just picked up a new winch for my new phowler 1760. It's a 4000lb viper wide spool(couldn't pass up the deal). I am going to have the guys at Illowa marine make me a mount for my front deck seat post reciever. I plan on putting a trolling motor plug on the winch power cable so I can just plug it into my TM plug that I already have mounted. Where in the series do I install the contactor? Do I even need it? The directions just say that the contactor is to separate the winch from the power source when it's not in use. If I am only plugging it in when using it, is it necessary to have the contactor then? If I do, any recommendations as to where/how to mount it? I definitely don't want to install it inline with the TM plug under deck, cuz I still want to be able to use that plug for the trolling motor during summer.
Thanks

 Re: Winch contactor?
I just plug mine into the TM plug if needed. No contactor.
