Here's what I got, a 2010 excel 1754f4 w/ stock 35cdi MB. With 6 gal of gas, two trolling batteries under the deck, trolling motor, maybe 30 lbs of boat junk, and me (280) I'm only getting 23mph. With me and 3 others plus hunting gear it runs about 12. I just installed the tach so I should have a running rpm in a day or two but any more trim and it looses bite and slows down, any less and the motor bogs and slows down. OOW at wot it will hit the limiter. I know a 17ft boat isn't ideal but I was hoping for a little better than this. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

That sucks. I was running 26-28 on a stock 35. After mods I'm running around 31-32. Had it loaded down with 4 people and 2 54 quart coolers Sat night and got it planed out but was only pushing 22.3 on gps. Current was a bitty

might need a smaller diameter wheel... check the rpm's your turning when in the boat by yourself...

35 hp lawn mower motors aren't made for bass boats that put 1000 pounds of people and gear!! Think of it this way if you was to buy that boat with a outboard on it what size motor would it be!! I bet not a 35

Have you ran the boat without those two batteries and trolling motor on the front? That much weight that far forward could cause some plowing. Just a thought.

My stock motor ran good with my 17' hull. Granted I never carried much weight... When i started having to carry weight to go to freind's camp for the wekeend It would take forever to plane out and was slow with 3 people plus clothes, ice chests, generator etc.... Got a stage one after my powerhead needed replacing and now it made a TON of difference.
