Post some pics of the boat...I had a 1648 PD boat with a 36 and it ran 29 all day. How the bottom of the boat look at the transom? Any dents?

Sounds about right for a non mud hull, especially if it's a modv or has hooks.

I run a 18 x 52 .125 with a full 8ft front deck with a stock 35 MB and hit 26mph... but I run around 4200 RPM's... you should be able to run up to 4300 Rpm's with a stock motor so maybe tune up your gov to gain a little more speed...

If you look at the boat data on the table link below in my signature you will find all kinds of information on what speeds various boat, motor, modifications, and hull configurations are achieving.
