Would a 13 hp beavertail Long tail motor have a Title??

 Would a 13 hp beavertail Long tail motor have a Title?? looking at buying a boat from a guy with this motor. He has Title for boat but not motor. Just wondering if that small of a motor came with a title? Just dont want anything stolen. Any nput?

Unless it came from a state that does not title them and you have a bill of sale for it, I don't think you can just request a new title. You can call TPWD and see what they need to get it titled.
FYI, I have never been asked to show any proof of ownership on a motor. You may have a problem selling it down the road, but probably won't have a problem with using it. Would be awfully nice to verify that it is not stolen just in case someone decides to run the numbers on it though...
