looking at buying a boat from a guy with this motor. He has Title for boat but not motor. Just wondering if that small of a motor came with a title? Just dont want anything stolen. Any nput?

Some states don't title motors. In TX, it would/should have a title.

Where did the motor come from? Do you have a bill of sale for it? Unless it came from a state that does not title them and you have a bill of sale for it, I don't think you can just request a new title. You can call TPWD and see what they need to get it titled.

FYI, I have never been asked to show any proof of ownership on a motor. You may have a problem selling it down the road, but probably won't have a problem with using it. Would be awfully nice to verify that it is not stolen just in case someone decides to run the numbers on it though...

All motors over 5hp require a title in Texas - FYI
