great reviews for copperhead. not much in price diff. i went with the orion 7hp sd. its a great lil motor. i have it on a 1432 jon. just me and dog i will run in deep water about 14mph. shallow water about 15-16mph. had her loaded down pretty good this season with my pa at 190lbs, two dogs 120lbs, gear 100lbs, and myself 170lbs. she was a bit of a dog but got us where we wanted to go at about 7mph in deep and shallow about 8mph. for a 7hp sd with a 8x4 prop on. thought it was pretty good. its been a damn good motor so far. only had it for one season. about 20hrs. |

I made the mistake of purchasing an orion. Sent it back, total dog, tried it on several 12 and 14' boats, wouldnt plane out ANY of em. JUNK. The owner was nice enough to only charge me $600 to send it back. |
