I was told today by a ProDrive owner that they and Gator Tail recommend not using a transom saver as it will actually transmit more shock to the transom. Anyone else heard this?

I did use one with my Pro Drive. I haven't with my Mud Buddy yet. I don't see how it would transmit more shock to the transom. My buddies don't use them and I can see their motors bouncing around all over the place while following them going down the road. Mine never budged with the transom brace I had. Now if I could figure out how to brace my MB.

I use one on my PD. I had to modify it a little but I think it works good.

MB actually sells a transom saver for their motors. Simple to make one tho.

Bfenn uses a transom saver on his PD & has alot less issues with the transom now.

I have been using the transom saver that Gator-Tail offers for over 2 years now and not a single issue... I put close to 400 miles a week on my boat & trailer and haven't seen any issue on my end.

Thought it was crazy myself when I heard it, too. These things are tough but anyone ever bent a piece of wire enough knows it'll break. Took an old piece of mud flap and stuck it to transom on my Pro-Drive put it in Rev and trim it down till the trim mount touches the bumper bars. If the hitch on your truck higher than level w/ trailer this might be chancy, skeg only 12" from ground.
