First of all the name has been changed(since that is not the name on my birth certificate) to protect the innocent( and the last part was suppose to be a joke). I have searched to no avail. All it did was lead to a bunch of Egos.
For what I do I don't need a mudmotor but I want one. It will be used for fishing and no hunting involved. I need or should I say I want a reverse and I don't want a MudBUddy, any how they have the Super Duper of them all.
Is the Gatortail worth the $725?
Also I might have a Godevil boat available to me from my uncle on a trade if he sells his motor.
Which motor between a Prodrive and a Gatortail is better on the Godevil hull?
Now please lets not get this into a 8 page ego boosting contest.
The only question is which motor is better on the GD hull.
I am to old to go and meet anybody at Academy unless I bring my walker and my 9mm. I had to scale down from my 44 because it kicked to hard.
So which motor is better on the GD hull

Gatortail. Better on the boat and instant reverse will serve you well fishing. I drive a pd and say gtr

I have a Gator-Tail on a GDSD hull. It works fine...not near as good as it would on a GT hull but works pretty good nonetheless.

You ask if it's worth the additional money....YES!!! It's worth every penny!

It all boils down to you deciding whats more important/convenient. Instant reverse...or not instant reverse. If reversing around the boat ramp and in and out of the duck blind is what's important...get a GT. If being able to go 20 mph in reverse tickles your clit...get a PD.

If its round Chine and has a tapered transom, I'd say the GTr. I never liked the way a PD runs on those boats.

Another thing to think about is gtr has a little more tiller torque than pd of because of out drive length. gtr is a little faster also

Having ran a PD on a 1844 GD hull, I'd say go with the GTR. The PD worked good, but the GTR is a more fishing friendly setup.

cb, you seem cooped up and aggressive now that hunting season is over. If you need to get out of the house and hunt for something I could send you the localities of some fossil outcrops near you. Hunting for fossilized shark dicks is both fun and rewarding :lol:
