I saw a post on the Cali State Forum over at the Refuge Forums today. It appears that Home Depot (at least in the western states and hopefully where you live) is closing out Thermacell products.

The OD green handheld device which is normally $25+ dollars is $5.73 on closeout! The refill packs that contain one butane cartridge and three pads, normally $6.79, are $3.20 each. They also have the garden lantern device.

These items are probably on a closeout end cap or section...not where you would normally find them. I went to my local HD store, bought another handheld device (I already have one) and cleaned them out on the 6 refill packs they had on hand.
