Anybody run an outboard on their mudboat? I have an 1854 Uncle J square chine and am considering running about a 40-60 HP outboard during the summer for fishing. How would it work?? |

I had a 16ft skiff that was a slick bottom that we ran a 40 on and it would slid like a bitch in turns and you had to be careful with the skiff in a good chop. You could do it just beware in the turns |

I run a 90hp on a 2066 phowler and love it. All I have to do is bend the trim tabs down a hair to keep the front end down and I run low 40s. |

yeah I got a 50 on my 18x4, runs good, WOT about 38 but thats with a stern lifting 4 blade. Could prob hit 41 with the right 3 blade. I have crimps in the bottom so no sliding. When I had mine built I did it knowing I would run and outboard and a SD. |

Just put a 60 on it and roll with it. Be careful in the turns if you dont have alot of weight in the boat. |
