I am currently looking for the right brand and size of mud motor to purchase. I have a 1548 all welded flat bottom. I would enjoy using one of the big motors (35 or 36 horse) but am thinking that might be too much. Does anyone have any good recommendations? |

Dude, do yourself a favor and search it up. There's a shit load of info on here for what I can only imagine would be every type/size of hull around. And go ahead and delete your title AND post, bc with as much bashing as is on here for these questions, you'll get butt hurt never to return and miss out on a ton good info. Buena suerte!! |

I say go for the 35 or 36, I'll be wishing you had when you have me and my gear in your boat. Tough crowd, hey C&B you're ******* losers. Thanks for the advice, I had never heard of this "search feature," you guys must be full of great ideas with all the BS you post. I wish I could sit and listen to all your great knowledge. Watch how pissed off these trolls get...give me what you got C&B, unless you're too busy using the "search feature." ![]() |

Go big block you will not regret it. Its not too big for your boat.....unless you hunt fed land and have hp and prop restrictions. Then you will hate the feds. |

I am leaning more to the 35 horse. My only concern is the weight. I look at like a 40 horse outboard. Specs say that they weigh about 150-180 lbs on average, where as a 35 horse mud motor on average weighs any where from 240-270 lbs. that's almost a 100 lb difference, but does it actually make any kind of difference? |

Why not just sell what you've got & put that $ towards a whole rig. I know where there's a good one at for sale right now. ![]() |

Just to let ya'll know, went with the 27 prodrive and it worked out great. If I had to guess, it is topping out somewhere between 25 and 28 with two people and gear in it. And yeah, i'm a fat ass, weighing in a whopping 150 lbs. |
