When all of this came out in the news, the NFL said that they were going to make an example out of them. I would have bet that they would have found a way to buy thier way out of this, I'm glad the NFL didnt let em slide. |

This is bullshit! All they are doing is punishing the fans. You want to punish them then fine the fukk out of the coaches but Payton and loomis siting out for that long is ridiculous. And loosing 2 draft picks sets the team back for years. What about all the years that Greg Williams was doing the same thing with other teams. This is turning into a puzzy league. I guess no Saints in the Nola superbowl this year. |

Maybe the term 'bounty' just sounds bad, but it's been made public knowledge, mainly by other players, that the Saints were not the only team involved in such a program. Besides, the cash 'rewards' were pennies to these players who earn millions. It was nothing more than a motivational tactic, and its sad they made it out to be like each player was out for blood (like they aren't already). This should have been a league-wide investigation before handing out any type of penalties, but someone obviously blew the whistle on the Saints, and they have been used to be made an example of. And I agree with BSH, this is definately turning into a puzzy league. It's football - you will get the sh*t knocked out of you and that's just how it is. That's why you sign contracts for stupid amounts of money. Yes, it sucks for fans, but it's only a game and life goes on..... |

Fukk the lesson. This is football. Players can get hurt by not going fullspeed and being worried if they are hitting to hard. Goodel needs to go. The players make millions and they know the risks they take. Pretty soon this is gonna be the flag football league. |

There are concequences for your actions in life. When you try and intentionally hurt someone (maybe career ending) there needs to be action taken. You lie about what you have done and try to down play it, you get what you dererve. Most teams I would bet do something similar to the bounty, The Saints just got caught. |

I like how all the Saints defensive highlights are legal hits for the most part. They love showing the hit Bobby McCray laid on Kurt Warner, but it was totally legal. And fuck Jeremy Shockey. Warren Sapp tweeted that it was Shockey who was the snitch. |

The biggest reason I think the nfl came down so hard on the saints, was to cover their own butts with all these current and future player saftey lawsuits and they also told the saints to put an end to it after the 2009 season and they didn' after they assured the nfl and tom benson they would. Loomis and payton got what they desereved for misleading and lieing to the nfl and tom benson. If it was me i would fire both loomis and payton. Loomis and payton always said they want players with high character, but I guess having a high character doesn't apply to them. Jeremy Shockey is rumored to be the snitch |

Football isn't what it was even 10 years ago all the new rules and shit I have a hard time keeping up with it. That being said I don't agree with purposly trying to go out and injure somone just to make a few extra bucks. I think they got what they deserve. Football is getting to be more like 2 hand touch lateley but you don;t have to put bountys out their on other players |

This whole situation is bullshit. Football is a physical game. Now I could see all of this happening if the saints were cheap shotting the hell out of people or using illegal equipment(such as razors in the sock or something crazy), but they used a motivational tactic to try and spark a defense that was below par. All the way down to pee wee football coaches give prizes such as stickers on the helmets for the same things so I really dont see what the issue is. Goodell is making it where coaches cant coach and players cant play. I guess the next bounty is on godell. |
