I would go with a LED light bar.

Go with a hard hat light. its hands free and light shines wherever you look.

I just got the "mother of all boat lights" LED's from mud buddy. Have not been on the water yet but have tried them in the front yard. So far I'm impressed.

Save yourself some money and time and read the thread on how to build your own HIDs. I ran a 10" Rigid Industries lightbar for about a week. It was a spot/flood combo. I still had to use a handheld spotlight at times. I wasn't impressed so I returned it. For about 150 bucks less I was able to build 4 of the HID lights and weld up a lightbar. That setup is way brighter and I havent used my handheld spotlight since.
