i posted a ad for tuna dawgs new surface drive boat, and when i clicked on it it said i wasnt authorized to view it, and when i went to "view your post" it isnt there anymore. wtf?

You are not a sponsor... your other post will be gone soon, I'm sure. They were both in the wrong forum too.

I believe there is a big difference between someone selling their personal rig vs. a boat builder advertising and selling his product through this site without being a sponsor...

There is, and he is selling two boats that they built to sell and soliciting to build more boats for new customers... There is enough goddamn builders on this site already anyway.

Its one thing to give the Guy who built your boat a plug here and there. It another to market and sell them here...

Looks like everyone covered what I was going to say

I try not to be a dick about these things because there's no need to. When I see folks posting advertisements, I do pull the threads and normally pm the guy and let them know about our advertising opportunities here at MMT. I explain to them that their thread was pulled out of fairness to the paid sponsors, and I would do the same for them if they were a sponsor here. It's never been about the money, it's been about fairness to those who paid to be here.

Actually, there were 2 different sponsors that suggested "your buddy" get with Tony for a sponsorship. I was one of em.

And if TonyB makes a little extra after all the expenses, so be it.

It is a pain in the ass to run a site especially when you have people like us.
