I think the smart thing to do is wait until they work all the kinks out, like in a year or two.The mb R&D department has a less than perfect track record.

Needed a motor cuz right now I just have a haul sitting in the backyard. I have friends with MBs that I have a lot time on and Like the way they run. figured why not go with the new model if I have to buy. Hoping with 5 yrs of research that they get it right.

^^^wrong^^^
The reverse worked without the plate, it just works "better" with it. Kinda like a modded 35 Briggs. It works just fine, but with heads & exhaust it's alot better.

Nope, just been around em both long enough to know the truth.

Yeah a reverse that slings water and mud over the transom and has half the power without the plate sounds like a great design.

And it only costs $200 for what should be a standard feature.

Its a good thing that its a duck boat that i won't need till Nov, so its not a big deal to me to wait for something i want.

Funny how there hasn't even been a proto spotted on the way to the lake. These are the Big Foots of motors. We know they are out there, but nobody can prove it.

The Sport V and H both appear to be nothing but CAD drawings and a dream but that doesn't change the fact that when they build these two new surface drives and can prove that they'll hold up to the abuse of the original belt drive units they'll be the most innovative surface drive by far. They're using modern technology to build and apply neutral and reverse on these surface drives, unlike any of the other brands. Imagine if Mercury came out with a brand new motor next year that used a motorcycle brake caliper and a brake lever mounted to the tiller handle to engage reverse, or Evinrude came out with one that required you to pull a lever and manually ratchet the lower unit 180 degree's. People would laugh them off the market. It would be like loosing 50 years of Technology.

If they wanted a surface drive with reverse without using any innovation they could of made some very minor modifications to the belt drive units and copied Gator-Tail.

What Mud Buddy is trying to achieve is the definition of innovation. I'm not saying the motor will stand up to the abuse of the belt drives BUT if it does it will be a game changer.

Thats what Im talkin about. So many haters out there when we are all doing the same thang. Who cares that others buy what their buddys think is the best. The only way you can get something better than others is to get something different. Mine will be here first of Septmber and if ya wanna see it come on down to Toledo Bend.

What's the difference between the 2 "new" motors?

Author:  BDUBYA [ Thu Apr 26, 2012 11:54 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Sport 44H

The motor on the H model is horizontal and it is vertical on the V model. Thats the only difference that I know of.

Here's what I'm sayin.

http://www.mudbuddy.com/forum/concern-a ... 15009.html

Even wit a guy givin advise ta him, G l e n n is still to arrogant ta get it fixed til his "eyes are opened". When a customer gives ya a bit of info, phuckin take care of it. You don't deal wit any a dat from any other one a da MM companies, ever.
There's threads been posted all over dat sight bout this. Nothin gets fixed. Used ta own a excel myself. Waited weeks ta get a call back. Few times I never even got dat. Just dumb. Why people buy anything from em is beyond me.

^^ so not worth my time. However ta give ya some clarification. Da point is dat til he heard it himself he completely discredited his own customers concern. Just stupid business. Ain't my prob no more. I sold my old excel. Everyone else ignorant enough can deal wit dat crap.

I won't slam ya though paleo. Docott already picked on ya enough dat ya had ta make yer very own tit baby thread.
