Has anyone seen one? Or ran one? They are all aluminum construction and weight 225 lbs. the price on them is great at $4500. I know it's not one of the great 4 brands. From talking to ben (owner and builder) they look to be and seem pretty good. Does anybody have any experience with them or know anybody that does? Www.dixiemudmotors.com |

I wouldn't spend that sort of money on a product that has yet to be proven. Hell...for $1600.00 more...you can purchase a 35HP Gator-Tail...or a PD for about the same. ![]() |

Honestly...before I purchased a new one of them...I'd purchase a used one of something else. GT..PD and GD will still be here in 10 years when you need replacement parts... 3 engines I'd NEVER purrchase. Dixie...Beavertail...and Muttbuddy. |

I'm supposed to have my 23 here this week sometime. I plan on posting a review after running it so hopefully I will be able to give some useful information. The few reviews I was able to find were all positive and for the money I figured it was worth a shot. I had planned on waiting for a good deal on a used 'big 3' motor but to get down in the price range of the dixie they seemed to have 150+ hrs on them for the most part and for the same money to have on brand new motor it seemed like it may be worth a try. I'll know soon enough I guess. Good luck. |

Craig, have you had any experience repowering the engine on a prodrive? I've tossed around the idea of ordering just the 36 Briggs engine from prodrive and taking the 27 off of my frame and making it a 36. I've put new engines on belt drives befor but never a PD. what's your input? |
