Anybody know the part number for the add on oil cooler for the stage 3 motors from EVT, Mike told me they got it at oreilly,autozone etc. but didn't have the part number with him. Was going to add for the weekend. Thanks |

You can get Hayden oil coolers at any Oreillys. Have them look them up in the books if they dont have the size you want in stock. |

most of us run a hayden #401... which is a fin/tube.... if you don't mind spending a few extra $$$ go with a hayden #676... which is a fin/plate.... The fin plate will give you more cooling due to the design.... such as the stock engine cooler.... Briggs gets away with such a small stock cooler due to the effciency of the design.... you will see that the fin/tube cooler we run a little longer and probably only cool as much as the stocker if not slightly less.... put it in series with you stock one and the motor will be happier. I would show you mine but my boat is over at EVT and its an airboat so it won't help ya much on where to put it.... but I have mine on the engine stand below the motor in the flow of the prop. |

I have a fin/tube with 3/8" tubes (probably 1/2" OD) Hayden #401... and a plate/fin will outperform due to it spreads the oil over the area of the plate which radiates heat over a larger area for cooling vs just flowing through tubes and letting the fins draw the heat away... I promise you the stock cooler (plate/fin) is cooling about the same compared to the hayden's with 3/8" (1/2" OD) finned tubes... and doing it in a smaller package.... putting the stock in series with the hayden is the best route on motors than are ran hard. And my airflow across the coil is let me do the math... finned area ( 5"x8.75") air speed 40mph approx..... That comes out to about 17 cfs... and I would figure oil flow rate to be what the gear pump in the engine is rated for less minor losses in the passages and filter.... anything else ya wanna know? |

lol...watever dude.... ill get the CFM and GPM so i can calculate it myself..... FYi..coils are always measured by the OD of the tubing inside the fins....the reason u say it is only doing as good is because it does not have the proper find per inch which does not transfer the heat fast enough for the motor..... get you a temp gauge and let me know the differance..pm me your address i got somthin that will chage your mind.... |

it really doesn't matter to me... its not like i put it in a program at work or anything or have the time during the day to actually do the calcs.... i got other sh*t to engineer and design..... wasnt trying to make a bid deal out of it.... i just know that plate and fins tend to be more efficient... i was not saying what i have is not working... i think the set up i have will actually do a lot better than what yall are limited to on your mud motors.... my hayden cooler is actually in my prop flow so I know I am getting much much more cooler air than what the flywheel fans are pulling through them on the motor. in all actuallity i probably have about a 45-50 mph wind blowing through my coils when i am on the throttle |
