Any Way to Get A Prodrive to Trim Up Higher?
Right now trimmed all the way up the prop isn't even out of the water at all.
Is there anything I can do or adjust to get it to trim up higher. I have a 2012 with hydraulic power trim.
Thanks

Why does the prop need to come out of the water?

To clear logs and other things that may not be under the surface.
What boat is your motor on?

I don't know if mine trims that high or not. With the winch it would, I don't think it does with the hydro though. I just lift mine up to clear stuff like that. Or lock it up with the loop if I'm pushing the boat.

But you can't lift it up out of the water if it won't trim that high. I was just thinking he might have it on a boat with a higher degree transom angle.

Re: Any Way to Get A Prodrive to Trim Up Higher?
Yea that's the main reason I was asking is because where I fish there is a ton of standing timber, logs, stumps, and everything, so I'm wanting it to trim up to clear all that stuff.
I have the motor on a 1650 Xpress. It is the hyperlift hull, so no it's not a mud hull. I was thinking it is the transom angle as well.
I just didn't know if there was maybe something simple I was over looking that I could adjust to make it trim up higher instead of as low as it goes now, because it will go lower than I will ever need.
Also I don't think you can lift it any higher than the trim goes.

Check the transom angle
You can get an extra 4" of clearance at the skeg by pushing down on the handle.

You can shim the motor if the transom angle is off that far. I don't know what size shim to use though. Figure out what the transom angle is on your boat and give pd a call. They'll get you hooked up.

I had thought about shims. Thanks guys. I'll check the transom angle in a few. What should the transom angle be?

You can always get your buddies to sit on the very front of the boat.

Re: Any Way to Get A Prodrive to Trim Up Higher?
Is it just that the boat drafts really deep in the back and it sits low?
How much freeboard you gots?

With the hydro-trim your motor should trim up to around 14" above the bottom of the hull when using a straight edge along the bottom of the hull and measuring to the center of the prop. You will get about another 2" when physically tilting the motor by hand before topping out. Measurement were taken on a tall transom Geaux hull.
