Just a hypothetical situation, just been thinking lately what I would do. If you could only upgrade one, but both your current motor and boat were working ok, just wanted to upgrade the whole setup, what would you choose? In the future I would like an 1852 boat and would need a bigger motor to push it. So big motor on the jon boat, or longtail on the big boat?

I realize that both scenarios are kind of like putting lip stick on a pig, but digging dicks don't pay like it used to, the market is saturated. So it would have to be one or the other first. |

How big is your boat you have now? Will it hold the motor you want to buy? If so, I would do motor first. |

The current boat is a 1648 jon, with a double reinforced transom. It should float a 35 without an issue, I think. |

I think that as long as you get drive angle correct you can run a sd on that hull you got now. Seen one here locally same size with a pd . Ran really good but he either had to add weight to front or have people with him to keep from porpousing. I'm sure I spelt that wrong. But defiantly get transom height correct |

Get the boat first. It will push u towards getting the motor earlier, if u really want to upgrade both. |

It costs a lot to look that good, between the clothes, shoes, and white sunglasses. I don't have a lot left over at the end of the month

Motor first, rather be overpowered beating up a boat that a nice boat that don't move. Though I will be doing the exact opposite. |
