 Rhino Line Floor and Bow
Was thinking about rhino lining the floor and front deck of my rig. It seems that most people end up tearing the hydro turf after not too long, so I thought this might be a good alternative. Was wondering if anybody has done this before or had any thoughts/comments/suggestions.

Didn't know there was such an issue with hydroturf, but i would much rather use that then a bed lining material. Those liners retain heat, are not very slip resistant, and if you don't like it i would think you'd have a hard time removing it asneasynas all the turf being replaced.

 Rhino Line Floor and Bow
Had Reflex liner on my last boat and 55@25 is right hard to get off not that slip resistant, and not user friendly at all when you out just tooling around in the off season no cushion factor whatsoever. Even though I did spray one with Reflex and previously applied 1/8 high density foam first and it was nice.

Re: Rhino Line Floor and Bow
Put turf in my first boat, destoyed it in one year. Boat gets used for everything from deer to ducks. My buddy does the bedliners so I had him spray my boat. That suff was a hell of alot better than the turf. If your easy on your boat go with turf, if your like me do the liner. Next boat will have liner in it also.

Re: Rhino Line Floor and Bow
I haven't had any problems with tearing the Hydroturf on my rigs, but I'm sure some of the anvil destroyers (sorry GC) could make it happen. The biggest problem I've seen is it will degrade from UV if left exposed in the sun for extended time. Cover it or leave it in a garage and it seems to do fine.

Re: Rhino Line Floor and Bow
Had cajun camo paint my rig and they use some sort of splattered finish inside. Not as thick as a bedliner but it does a good job as a nonskid. Maybe this will be an option for you also.

Re: Rhino Line Floor and Bow
if u get a cheap dump gun and spray it with gel coat, it will spray real rough like a bed liner, and is non skid, or u can just get some rustoleum and roll it with a roller, spread a lil sand down and put another light coat of rustoleum and if its a lil too light of texture mix the sand in the paint and roll it like that. we roll our flat beds at work like that and it holds up pretty well. im sure itll hold up fine in a boat

Re: Rhino Line Floor and Bow
Have never seen anyone tear up hydroturf. Unless you plan on rolling around jagged chunks of concrete inside of your boat you will be fine. Hydroturf is a superior performer for traction, sound deadening, temperature control (cooler in summer, warmer in winter) and every other imaginable metric including what happens when you spill gas on it. Bedliner will peel right up...turf takes it.

Any solid liner manufacturing company has chemical resistance and very high Abrasion resistance, but it doesn't have the soft, cool, sound dampening characteristics of turf. I have sprayed multiple liners companies and have done it for 12 years(spray about 6 trucks a week right now)... , but I'm going with turf in my new boat.

Re: Rhino Line Floor and Bow
nocemdead, I have polyurea sprayed on the bottom of my boat (just did it). It is fairly slick, very hard and abrasion resistant and has surprisingly good elongation for when I hit stuff. You are right about good polyureas being able to take gas spilled on them. There are even tank linings for petrochemical storage sprayed with polyurea now. I have seen some sprayed on boats, however, that did not take gas spilled on it. Peeled right up. Gotta use the right kind.

I recommend Line-X or Gard-it by Reflex the only thing is.....that it's not a do it yourselfer deal must have a dealer apply it. Unless you wanna buy a 7000.00 dollar sprayer. Look up www.quickliner.com for the best do it yourself kit. Urethane paints stick well to most products to if you want camo over it also.

Re: Rhino Line Floor and Bow
My boat has Speedliner on it. Slick as snot when muddy and hot as hell in the sun. Not gasoline resistant. I have neomat on the floor over the bedliner. Would not do it again.

Re: Rhino Line Floor and Bow
I appreciate all the input and ya ll have me leaning towards the hydro turf now. As far as hydroturf goes any suggestions. Such as straight groove vs. diamond, color, etc.

Re: Rhino Line Floor and Bow
Straight groove is the most common, and I like the camo because it will hide a lot of mud or rust stains or whatever you happen to get on it.

Re: Rhino Line Floor and Bow
had the diamond in both of my boats, no complaints. shits worth its weight in gold. no matter if its 400 degrees outside, u can u walk on that bare footed, really dampens the sound, doesnt hold water, i can go on forever
