For those who have built the cooler stereos, do you need any vents to cool the amp? Or does it not overheat?

I Didn't put vents. But I do crack the lid a bit when playing, speakers hit harder too when cracked so if I were u maybe put a Lil vent

U use marine speakers?

I never used marine speakers in the ones I made. They got wet and still worked. Never had heat issues either but I always used a deck with the highest output and left the amp out. Jams as loud as you want it to on the water. Make sure the cooler has wheels Makes it a hellofalot easier to stay mobile.

Mine's made with a motorcycle amp & 4 marine speakers (2-6" & 2-4.5"). Amp gets pretty warm, but I just crack lid & let it breath.

Im gonna check at the local pawn shop and see if they have any small amps. You have a deck camo or just have it to where you can plug in a phone or mp3 player? Im gonna try to do some searching when I get home... At work at the moment.

Just use my phone.
FYI, it also serves as a loud speaker for phone ringer while running.

You talking about hooking your phone up to the stereo? I have an I phone not up to date on how to do that yet.

If your trying to hear it will running def get an amp. I'm running 2 6x9 and 2. 3" tweeters on 400 amp and like 100 head unit from Walmart but it will blare plenty loud. I used an old still yeti so ive never had any problem over heating or anything but it would be a bad idea to port the speakers to make it louder.

I like audio pipes a lot more compact and easy to make.

My stereo is built into the gun box. Saves on space and still holds my guns.

I just have 2 6x9s and 2 4in speakers powered by a cheap tape player that has a mp3 hookup. I have maybe $120 in it and can hear it while running

ordered one of these for my 4 wheeler and i also use it in my boat. just bunjee cord it down to the boat and it dont go no where. i can hear it fine while im runnin to.

im not much on building stereo stuff. hate messin with wires! better off just buyin me one! haha but it does work really good. i think theres either a 200 or 400 watt amp built into it though

Those of you looking for an amp to use...see if you can find a local dealer for these amps. I have this amp on my stereo for my Rhino, it fits in the palm of my hand and pushes 4 Apline 6.5's hard. Also, the amp only cost my $60.

If you want to hear it at Wot..... add a pa horn..... I have 2 amps in in my cooler...added second when I put in a 10" woofer.....I leave the drain open and top cracked......if not woofer would blow the 6.5's.... gonna rebuild with bigger cooler and seal off woofer from the rest of speakers......

I use a 50x2 for speakers and a 250x1 for woofer......
