Here's the deal guys. I'm new to owning mud motors...I've got a 35hp GDSD 2009 Went perform an oil change, as per the schedule. When I drained the oil there were, what I think to be, a considerable amount of metal shavings in the bottom of my bucket. This motor has not been beat by me or the previous owner and only had 75 hrs on it when I got it this spring...this is my first oil change on it. The service record looks good. The oil being run is 5w 30 synthetic. Here is a photo of the shavings IMG_0353.JPG Also, where can I get a briggs oil drain plug with a magnet in it??? The current plug doesn't have one. Any help or insight is much appreciated. Thanks, Teal |

It's somewhat normal for a motor to have a few shavings after 1 or 2 oil changes. |
