Water rose 10 feet in the miss. River at the Belle Chase gauge. I imagine everything on the outside of the levee got wet. The Venice gauge got to 7.5 ft. Before it lost power. Not sure what high water is down there, but I hope everything works out for everyone.

I'm not sure either but I heard yesterday that there still was 5 feet of water on the road in myrtle grove so I could only imagine what Venice looks like

Pretty sure Venice is dry. The water on the west bank goes from Myrtle Grove area down to Triumph. Below Triumph, inside the levee's I'm told didn't flood. And on the east bank, from St. Bernard / Plaquemines Parish line south to the White Ditch are or we're flooded. From the levee at White Ditch south to Pointe A La Hache inside the protection levees were not flooded.

The only area on the westbank of plaquemine that got flooded was myrtle grove area. Port Sulphur to Venice inside the levee is high and dry.

Belle Chasse is going to be without power for at least two weeks. Hundreds of power lines down between Port Sulfer and Venice. Ironton is flooded and took a week to drain the last time it flooded. The last time ironton flooded there were no makeshift levees. Myrtle grove had 5-6 feet of water on the slabs. No water in Venice if that was the question.

And besides AIN'T NO DUCKS IN VENICE :D :D

We spent about 3 hours in venice the Sunday before the storm. We didn't see any teal ,but there were plenty of grey and black ducks. Big improvement from two weeks befors that.

Hey kingfish, are you clergy? That means in cahoots w/ the church. ???
Reason I ask is I aint never seen that many dead nothing in plaq parish w/out a beer can in some of the pics!

Yes in Plaq parish we know where each other hunt by mountains of beer cans. When the ducks start flaring its time ti clean the blind. :D This isn't the guy that got busted from the facebook pics?

I heard from marino last night. He said his house and boats in Venice were ok. He said it would be 2 months before he had power.

Post subject:  Re: Venice

damn 2 months? regardless of how many birds an if the trailer we rented made it through the storm it most likely wouldn't have power

There will be power before 2 months, poles are down but lines are still intact. Road still closed but people are coming in on the levee. I stayed for the whole ordeal in Nairn, about 15 miles above Venice.

Post subject:  Re: Venice

There's hundreds of teal in our orchard in Braithwaite. More rain and I will have a limit every day before work. All of the flood waters are in the fields of mid plaquemines parish ,which makes awesome feeding grounds for teal. lucky for the ones with farm land. :D :D

When you put it that way, I suppose I'll settle on having no ducks, a dry yard, and dry carpet... :?
