I am changing the transmission oil in hydr trim and was wondering........after emptying the bowl and reassembling, should I have the motor all the way trimmed down or up before refilling?

Thanks for the input

The reason I ask is when the hdryo lines blew 2 yrs ago and I had to replace them, I was told to make sure you have the motor all the way trimmed down(i think) before you fill with trans oil.

If I am just changing the oil from the resorvoir, and there is still oil in the lines, do I need to worry about whether the moror is trimmed up or down, or does it even matter?

It should have been trimmed all the way up before you started draining. When the rod is fully retracted it has displaced the most amount of fluid.

Remember not to crack any of the lines or or engine will slam down hard and fast.

I had the original lines made to 4k PSI............pretty strong stuff!!

I also have blocks and a seat cushion uner the skeg....just in case.
