I used the search function, but didnt see an answer. If there is a thread, direct me, please... Basic stuff... What is the measurement, or measure points, to determine long or short shaft... Short or high transom"? Specifically, for a MudBuddy HD Sport (29 hp Kawi EFI). I suspect (am pretty sure?) I am running a short shaft motor on a high transom boat. I suspect (am pretty sure?) I am giving up some performance because I am. I am not particularly concerned about speed, though I'll take and extra mph or two. I AM concerned I am givng up performance on getting going from a stop in paticularly shallow and soft, soft mud situations. What am I giving up in getting out of the hole and up on plane? Thanks! |

Measure from bottom boat to the top of your transom.Short 16 in Tall 20 in.The bottom of the box on your motor should be 3-4 in above the bottom of the boat. That i'm not sure of but its close.Hope this helps |
