Post Insurance
So, I am looking at purchasing a beavertail boat; my question for you guys is would I possibly run into a problem getting the boat insured ( since it isnt in NADA and could be considered custom) through an everyday insurance company like State Farm or Farm Bureau , etc?

Thanks

I have my through a Farm Bureau, with no problems.
They just need the hull numbers, motor size, boat length, estimated value.
Took a few minutes and its CHEAP considering the replacment value of the boat.

I did have Allstate. They dropped me because of a MIP of Alcohol I got in high school. Went through Progressive and my premium actually dropped $85 for the year

Sounds like getting insurance should'nt be a problem. What about getting the bank to finance a boat not in NADA?

I think I heard something about Progressive being very Pro-Obama.

May be worth looking into

Post Re: Insurance
My bank wanted proof that "a boat of that type" cost what I told them. I got on Go-Devil's site, and they have an interactive sheet where you build a boat with the options you want and it gives you line item pricing and a total. I printed it and emailed it to the bank. The GD boat actually came out to be more than my custom boat with less options, so they didn't have a problem with it.
