Siezed up horizontal swivel plate bolt.
This is on a 05 Mud Buddy hyperdrive. The long bolt that holds the motor horizontally to the swivel plate is moving when I turn the motor. The grease fitting will not allow any grease in. I think the previous owner didn't grease ths thing at all. It looks like to me that the bolt shouldn't be moving at all when I turn the motor left and right. The swivel plate should move around the bolt without the bolt moving left and right correct ? I have sprayed it with a good bit of PB blaster and tried to break the bolt loose with a cheater bar and a section of pipe with no luck. I got the bottom nut off fine and left it at the end of the threads and tired to tap it with a hammer with no luck. Any tips to get this thing broke free ?

Take motor off the frame and and all try changing grease nipples and putting a new one on.

Look at it close, mine is about that same year model and the 'bolt' is actually welded in place at the top. It should spin with the motor.

Re: Siezed up horizontal swivel plate bolt.
it is welded to the bottom of the motor plate. there is no bearing in it .it and the nut will turn ,as the motor turns.if u take the nut off u can pick the motor and all straight up and it will come out leaving the mounting bracket and trim on the boat .watch the trim wires .
