That is an awesome video. You realize the more things change the more they stay the same after watching that. It's cool to see the ole timers dropping triples, blowing calls, labs launching into the water and using the original mudboat, pirogues.

Awesome video!

That video is priceless. Lead shot was the stuff...those birds dropped dead. My kids went to high school with the Mcllhenny clan and we got to visit the private homes on the island which is actually a salt dome. http://www.knowla.org/entry.php?rec=1210 That place is impressive....lots of money there. Back in the day I'm certain they had ducks everywhere in the marsh around that island and in its private duck ponds. It was a bird sanctuary, too, so the ducks would rest there as well as land in the feeding ponds where the duck blinds were. The only place more impressive I have ever seen as far as duck hunting accommodations, is Grosse Savanne (Big Pasture) south of Lake Charles, LA.....70,000 acres of private marsh with 60 private duck blinds and a lodge the size of an old plantation mansion, all funded by oil money. http://www.grossesavanne.com/accommodations.asp

That's great.

Notice the decoy colors used and camo pattern of the hunters..

great video...

so close to home and where I hunt.

I'd love to see what my lease looked like in 1970 when my grandfather got it..

would really like to see the swamps back in the early 1900s when my great great grandfather was trapping alligators.
