Tell me what y'all think, I have a trailer for a 15-16 ft boat, but I bought a 17ft uncle j. It currently has two 4x6 as the bottom runners (what the bottom of the boat sits on.) I'm thinking of taking these off and the brackets that they are mounted to the trailer on off and carpeting and bolting on four 2x4s without the brackets. Keep in mind a gtr35 is going on the back of the boat in a few months and the boat is a full 18" longer than the trailer. I know if I were to do this I need to have the runners extend all the way to the end of the boat or a little past. I guess what I'm askin is will the 2x4s be ok? Or should I go a little bigger

Go with 4x4s. You can probably extend the trailer also

Spend the money and lengthen the trailer if you can.

My trailer was a tilt trailer, I cut all that shit off and slid the square tubing up a few feet, then welded it up. Trailer was for a 15 foot boat it's got a 18 footer on it now

I can, I'm guessing you mean lengthen the tongue, correct, I could pull it forward a foot or so and then lengthen the boards 6"...... Or should I just spend the money and add to it a couple feet

Make the trailor longer , it's better to have to much trailer then have one thats to small.
