Sounds like you have a short transom boat and a motor set up for a tall transom.

Have you played with separate trim settings?
Is the boat plaining out?
Are there bad hooks in the hull?

i checked it 2day and it measures almost 20 inches and the guys at the dealer said its the correct motor. has anyone ever used a jack plate with a mud motor? then i could mess around with the motor height

its a tracker grizzly all weld 1448 and a 23 hd sport and i got pods welded on. it just dosent seem right . most people with this set up are geting in the 20 mph im getting like ten. and i get the water rushing up into the boat when im not at full rpm

I would say the pods are a lot of your problem. Your boat isn't ideal but its not causing the water hitting the transom issue.

it did that water thing before the pods to. the pods just level the boat out a bit since the motor is so heavy

I may be wrong but it seems to me that the pods are creating a narrower channel for the water to come into, making it go in the boat, I'm no expert either, that's just what I'm picturing.

Does the transom height measure 20" or from the top of the transom to the bottom of the boat measure 20" if it's the latter, you've got a short transom with a tall transom motor.

Take a picture from the bottom, sounds like the gear box as you call it is acting like a board hitting the water giving the reason some think you have a tall transom motor on a not tall enough transom hull.
