I got a Hero2 for Christmas and been shopping around for a gun mount but all the ones I found disable the sling mount. I'm leaving tomorrow on a hunt and really wanted to use the camera so this is what I came up with. Go to academy and get this universal flashlight mount. 14$ ImageUploadedByTapatalk1357843740.063713.jpg Get a 1 1/8" oak dowel from lowes 7$ Cut dowel down middle 2", then cut the dowel off 1" past the cut. Clamp both onto barrel. The clamp comes with two plastic shims. This will be needed on the barrel, but they slip on the clamp so super glue the spacers to the clamp. Use one of the sticky flat mounts to stick on the flat surface of the dowel and countersink two small screws into the wood to secure it. I used a sharpie to make it black because I won't have time for the paint to dry. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1357843924.883711.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1357843942.529722.jpg |

That's going to effect the balance of the gun. I hope doesn't effect how u shoulder the gun and throw you off. Good idea though. |

Just remember to turn the camera into the right mode so it knows it's upside down. Looks good. I disagree regarding balance. The camera doesn't weigh "that much" as long as you are on target it's going to take down birds and have video proof to boot! |

You get an A+ for ingenuity! Maybe put a flotation pad on camera or safety lanyard in case the recoil jolts the clamp lose. |

The case is waterproof, not sure if it floats though. |

I bought a mount from captureyourhunt.com (used to be gogunmount.com). It fits on the sling stud on the magazine cap. I don't like it, I'd rather use the head strap mount. When you shoot, the recoil fuzzes up the image, and the "pinging" of the beretta piston is super loud on the audio. If you don't have a recoil keeper, your camera is going to pivot downwards, no matter how tight you screw it down. The recoil plate thingamajigger fits between the knob and the mount and keeps it from rotating. One word of advice, make sure you use the white rubber retainer in the mount, and I'd also make sure to tether your camera to your gun. |

I have a friend who uses the Mako Spearguns mount of his shotgun. You can get them with a recoil thing to keep your camera in place. I'm about to order one myself |

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1357954839.890393.jpg My go pro mount on the 10 gauge. Don't think I have to worry about weight or balance. It's all heavy! Going to be trying it out this weekend for first time on hunt. Experimented with it on the boat. Came out pretty cool. Sent using Morse Code from my not so smart phone. |

No. It is the mount with the short cinch strap on each side. I ran it between vent rib and barrel. Hunting a flooded soybean field tomorrow a.m. down in the delta. My buddy said they been doing pretty good down there so far. Sent using Morse Code from my not so smart phone. |
