again not bashing but i say this is i am buyin another motor next week and I want Reverse but i feel like for some reason that the PD just has that needy, hard to keep maintained look to it. Am i wrong and safe to choose the PD FPR or would i be safer to get a gator-tail reverse again i want PD but every one on here who has one is gettin work done to them know what i mean. |

Disregard the looks, FPR will add a whole other level of mudmotoring for most scenarios, it's a fact not just an opinion. It's not the end all, but without FPR, you'll likely get sick of push poling at some point or just avoid all the good spots you'd like to get back into and out of. Lot's of misinformation, propaganda, BS out there claiming otherwise. Lot's of tinkering goin on with mods a such , = broke stuff and working on them more than normal. Lot's of MM Queenies out there also, that's fine, hardly use they're rig/MM, sits in the spotless garage, worry about scratches, dings, dents, paint....... if ya don't run it, you'll never have to worry about breaking anything! |

Even if you are going by just looks, how can you really make an informed decision if you have never seen them all in person? I would take a day, or two or whatever it takes off from work to get there and back and do some demos. My PD looks awesome especially with my own custom camo job. If you compare a MM to a new outboard it an ugly SOB, but whatever. |

Things to consider- all the brands are using basically the same engines so if you are referring to engine problems, they would not be unique to one or the other. As RC said- lots of mods going on at various levels of experience. Other things you see here are all models from the first one made to the one that shipped yesterday. All the brands have made improvements since their serial #1. Lower units have been improved, trim units redesigned, props have changed, etc... they all have evolved. If you have any reservations (assume thats why you posted) then as suggested take a drive and demo. There are guys in OK, TN, MO, LA, TX that would probably be happy to show off their rigs. Just my 2 cents |

I have an '05 PD with FPR and have never had the first bit of trouble with it. Change the oil in the motor and foot once a year and new plugs ever so often and that's it. |

it says right there on the websight that mudbuddy is the king of mudmotors and is the pretty-est. for a extra 100$ they come with reverse as well!!!!! [pushpole type]. u may want to go that route, they have garage dealerships all across the country too. ![]() seriously, check out all ur options. and definately get off the wallet and go demo each brand u are interested in, cause if u don't u won't be getting the one that suit's u the best. good luck. the gdsd is a heck of a motor too. not much on it to break. might be a option for u as well. |

I have owned a 32PD and now a 36PD.I never test drove one or even seen a mudmotor before i bought mine.Watched a bunch of videos and FPR and gears is where i made my decision. At the time people were having lots of problems with belts.Seems like that problem was fixed.I lke the GT reverse.Just not sure if it would meet my needs. |

"looks are lacking"? Hell, I get all kinds of looks in mine ![]() I only have 18 hours on mine and it's my first mm, but I can tell you one thing, that FPR is da chit! I hear alot of good things about GT's too, but I bought what I have because it seemed like it would do the best when the goin' gets REALLY rough. I am not disappointed. I say if you're that worried about bein' pretty, get a bass boat! ![]() |

They are all ugly. They all work. They all break. It's what happens after they break that elevates the best dealers and manufacturers to the top. |

Hey drake it's cool don't believe them....Get a MB and a long rope you'll save some money that way....MB are cheaper and hell, you'll save gas money b/c you will have more time in the boat hooked up to a prodrive being pulled out of the mud.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Ditto on who cares what they look like. ALL that matters is how they perform. Sunk my 32 pd twice, yes twice, not the most proud moments in my life but when we got water out and she ran like a top, That was. Drake down, go test drive one before you spend the money. Better to waste gas in truck and be happy, than to waste money on wrong mm and be pissed for the term of the loan. just my 2 cents |

drakedownoutfitters, you should worry more about finishing your up coming retard rap video before you worry about a new motor. that is what I would do. Douchebag. |

Well my take on it is this they all are pretty equal in there own way much like the auto industry and looks would take some account if a truck was the greatest/strongest truck of all time but i was the shape of a big black veiny penis would you drive it? You gotta admit the prodrive with out camo and 2 years down the road looks a bit ugly compared to the MUDBUDDY which i will say along with GDSD is the best!!! ![]() |
