Just bought my first boat and I can't decide on which motor to buy. I want something in the 23hp -27hp range. I will use the boat for duck hunting, fresh water fishing, red fishing, and eventually bow fishing. A new gatortail, both GT and GTR are out of the range of what I am willing to spend. If money didn't matter it would be a done deal for a GTR 25.

I'm really interested in copperhead 23 hp, go devil 23hp and 27hp, and a used 27hp prodrive or used gator tail 25. I would rather buy brand new, which really leaves me with copperhead and godevil. The go devil is 80 lbs heavier than copperhead. Go devil is a proven company, where I never ever head of copperhead until I came to this website.

How well built are the copper head drives? To be that light, there must be a compromise somewhere?

If you have a suggestion between the 2, please tell me why.
